Wow – did I ever pick a bad time to move into a house that doesn't have air conditioning!
We've been working on getting some contractors to come in and do an estimate for heating and cooling. I guess in the middle of heat wave, right after a massive tornado hits is somehow inconvenient for contractors.
They have some nerve.
I've always said that 'Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part', but it's FORTY DEGREES outside. I think that actually does constitute an air conditioning emergency on your part. I'm slow roasting in my own house and they don't care!
Now, this warm weather does have some perks – the corn, veggies and berries are ready here weeks earlier than they usually
are and I've really been enjoying the road side stands that sell stuff on the honour system (seriously, they tell you how much you're supposed to put in the box and just trust you to put that much in… it's going to take a while to adjust to this new lifestyle!)
We did some removal in the Pole Barn yesterday and revised our floor plans for the rooms out there one more time.
We were chatting with Mary Jane before we left and she said that if we had a meeting room big enough that she would book us for her next leadership meeting. I'm planning on putting a 12x24' big empty room in the Pole Barn with an attached bathroom… that should be big enough, right?
When we're done adding things to this old house it surely will be Bound to Please.
