Milestones are a fantastic thing – they help you identify where you are and how much further you need to go until you arrive.
We set milestones for ourselves based on when we want to have something done and how much work is involved in finishing it.
One of the concepts that I learned early on was that of throwing your hat over the fence.
The story goes something like this – a guy wanted to get to place across the field, but the field was fenced in with a rather tall and awkward wall. The guy could simply go around the field, but it was large and he was in a hurry. He then threw his hat over the fence knowing that whatever else happened he had to get into the field to retrieve his hat. He then climbed the fence, crossed the field and was where he wanted to be in no time.
I've thrown my hat over the fence so many times now that it more or less just hops off my head any time we're around any fence – whether I want to cross it or not.
We've booked the in-floor heating guy for October 4th! That means that we have to have a BUNCH of stuff done before then. That gives us two weekend (well, one and a half now!) to get those things done.
We're making good progress on the wall segments and should be able to start with the vapour barrier shortly.
The Thermo-pex is almost done and we're pleased with the progress!
Being able to throw my hat around makes me the kind of guy who is Bound to Please!
