After a nice break, nice progress

Whohoo! We are making serious progress on The Southern Comfort Room (hey, by the way, I'm not really tied to that name, the Southern refers to the fact that it's the only south facing bedroom and the Comfort alludes to the luxury and elegance of the room – if you have a better name for the room – let me know now before the Web Team takes that name and runs with it).

We removed the wardrobe that they built in the room (there was no way to get it through the door so they built it in the room and just left it there when they moved. We disassembled it and then rebuilt it in the Utility Room in the Barn. Now it'll be used to store paint and other things that we don't want to freeze over the winter.

We also removed some of the drywall in anticipation of re-wiring the room and installing a door between the bedroom and the toilet. The old Lathe and Plaster is still sort of there. They've removed almost all of the plaster… which begs the question – why didn't they finish the job? You should see the old 2x4s that they used. They're HUGE – they must be a full 2 inches thick and a full 4 inches wide. Wow. And they look like hardwood too – and that's an interior non-load bearing wall. Wow.

In other news… I have a business call with Harry tomorrow morning and I'll be asking him about our shower while I have him on the phone. Hopefully he'll have some clearance showers to make room for the 2011 models.

Oh! We bought a bed!

I wanted a four poster bed and Sherry wanted a sleigh bed – we found a Four Poster Sleigh Bed in Essex – we both fell in love with it and they'll be delivering it in four to six weeks. Very cool. I've included a picture so you can get an idea of what the bed you'll be sleeping in looks like.

So, Christmas was a lot of fun, we had a really nice break and we're now working very hard so that you can join us early next year and share in the luxury and warmth that we've been creating here over the last six months or so.

We know beyond a shadow of a doubt that your first real experience here as a guest is Bound to Please!
