Sometimes it's kind of fun being excellent (usually it's a lot of work).
Let me back the truck up just a little bit.
Friday was a busy and productive day being excellent at work. I turned out a fantastic Data Access Layer and started in on the User Interface – I'm really pleased with that work.
Then right after work we hopped in the car and headed to Sarnia for Date Night (no Date Day for me this week!)
We had tickets to see THE Fidgets Live at the Industry Theatre and we had time to have a
coffee beforehand. That was fun.
Back to being excellent – the show started with some typical warm up stuff and I knew there was a contest for best photo – I brought my A-Game with me – everyone else was using itsy-bitsy Point-and-shoot camera. This should be No Contest (well, it turns out the other photos are pretty darn good – stupid excellent-people-that-aren't-me!)
The show was fantastic. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time and I have to say that Dave stole the show that night. His sign language skit was hilarious and I've never seen a Gibberish scene that good before – these boys were excellent (and it was fun!)
Back to my story. We had breakfast first thing (and ran into Emily again – she's fantastic!) We ran some errands for the rest of the
morning (and FILLED the car with stuff). The last stop was to Home Depot to return a broken pick axe. There was a seven foot tall Red Delicious Tree there for $15. Sherry asked if we had room in the car, I told her that I would make room. It's a good thing that tree was green and flexible (just like me).
We hurried home to install the Pex pipe in the Pole Barn for the infloor heating and we did an excellent job (if I do say so myself). And we had a great time doing it.
An above average (or in this case excellent) life is Bound to Please!
