The solar project has started!
We've been working toward that goal for almost
a year (since March of last year).
Now we've broken ground and grounded our back-hoe. That was a mess.
The ground here actually never froze this winter – I mean we're in the first week of February, if the ground is going to be frozen now's the time.
The first try at getting to the location of the installation the backhoe guy (From here on in we'll call him 'Rick'. Well, actually his name is Rick…) well, he went for the low ground and that was a 'bad idea'.
Then he did it again using the high ground and that worked out. For a while. Then he managed to grind the dirt into soup. It was messy and gooey.
Then he hit water and the soup turned runny and messy and gooey. It was pretty gross.
So at the end of the day yesterday we had three quarters of a hole filled with gravel.
Today they managed to finish the hole and double the amount of soup we had. Oh, my – what a mess!
Jason assures me that he'll restore the ground and make it look good as new.
Right now that doesn't look easy… but I'm sure he's done this before.
More news later!

Details, details, details.
It really is what separates the good from The Great. Apple computers has an amazing ability to focus on the very fine details of the products and they've been rewarded for that over and over.
Sherry and I also have a decent eye for details and that's where we're working now. There are a TON of details that need to be wrapped up in the next several weeks before we do our actual Launch Event. It's a little scary.
We'll keep you posted.
For now we're still trying to wrap up the Financing details for our Solar Array. We met with the Lawyer today and I think we have everything in place to pay for the solar array which is scheduled to be installed next week.
We should generate more than enough electricity to run our place and with all the extra insulation we've installed we're making the ecological footprint of our place smaller and smaller. We've even planted 1075 trees with the idea that we can generate renewable heating energy a few years from now.
(Just as an aside, a tree grows by taking Carbon (booo!) from the air and replacing it with Oxygen (yaaaa!) When it burns it does release some of that carbon, but it can't release more than it absorbed while it was growing – meaning that heating with wood is at worst 'carbon neutral'!)
With our attention to details we know that your stay here is Bound to Please!

It seems that we have a pattern here at Bound To Please: Rip, Renew, Restore, Repeat.
(I love alliteration!)
First we Rip something apart (usually completely!) then we Renew whatever we're working on, Restore the space and then do that over and over and over and…
Most recently we did my office floors (which will likely turn into a rentable bedroom at some point in the future!)
We're finally on the Restore step and hopefully it'll be a little bit before the Repeat kicks in (which is always does).
The floors are finished and look fantastic, but I'm still operating from a temporary office while we wait for the new desk to be built. Hopefully that'll come sooner rather than later.
We seem to manage to involve most of the house when we do our projects too. Sherry and I are having a few couples over tonight and Sherry's been working like a madman (madwoman?) for the last couple of days trying to get rid of all the dust and clutter so we'll have a comfy place to sit and enjoy.
It's nice to be between the Restore and Rip stages – I may spend a little time here and do an art project or something. Whatever we end up doing… with this much momentum… I'm sure it's Bound to Please!
