I know. I know. But I can explain.
Sherry's Dad ended up in the hospital with a pretty serious infection. That sort of threw our routine into a tailspin and we've been struggling to get it back ever since.
Sherry's Dad is back home now and the doctors are no longer worried about him, but they do say that it'll take weeks for him to completely recover. Yikes.
We've been busy trying to get ready for our first guests (this weekend!) and there are still eight thousand little details that we need to clean up – I suspect they're not all going to get done, but 'oh well' that's what a soft-launch is all about.
We do have an amazing breakfast planned. We have bacon and eggs with pan-fried spiral ham and sweet potato hash browns. Served with toast, jam, peanut butter and rather expensive Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee (not that _any_ coffee is cheap nowadays, but this stuff is about twice the price of regular coffee).
We can't wait.
With all the details that we've been cleaning up we know that for our first guests the experience is Bound to Please!

It's been busy! Since we last chatted we've finished the ceiling, finished the website (www.BoundToPleaseBandB.com ), hosted our first dinner party and (unfortunately) went to see Sherry's Dad in the hospital!
He's doing ok now but he's still in the ICU with an intravenous antibiotic dripping into his hand. He managed to get a really, really nasty infection that the doctors missed when he went in the first time and it went really bad there for a while.
In a way it was really nice seeing the whole family for a day or two, but the reason that we were all there was pretty sucky.
Sherry is still up there now making sure that everyone gets enough sleep and that the chores are done and that there's enough food to eat – that's just the kinda girl that I'm married to and I love her for that!
I'll take a little time while she's away to work on my workshop. It's great having a space to store all the tools and do some projects but it's been abused for the last several months while we worked on the inside.
We'll be having our first (so far) overnight guests since the Huge Renovation job on the 17th – so we have less than two weeks to get the last little bit of work done. It shouldn't be too hard as long as Sherry is able to come home in a couple of days the way she plans.
Our dinner party here was really nice –it was a little smaller than I was expecting, but we had a great time and had some nice feedback about the place. We can't wait to show some of the people that have seen the place before we started so they can appreciate just how much work we've done.
And you, of course, will appreciate it since you've seen all the in-progress photos. This one was taken just moments ago after I tightened the plumbing connection that I made earlier. I needed to make sure that it was ok before I repaired the drywall.
It's Sherry's hosting skills that I know will make a morning here Bound to Please!
